Dolce And Gabbana good enough to.... eat?

When I heard about the pasta jewelry worn on the runway at the D&G Spring 12 show I melted its true, I mean who didn't make pasta jewelry when a babe? I sure did, painted it and strung it and wore it till it snapped. Or I got hungary...
Oh! but back to Dolce! Lets let the riot of color and sparkle speak for itself, all I know is I loved it, especially the high waists with corset tops, yes please!

And just when my New Yorker self began to get squeamish with all that color comes:

Perfecto!

So I leave you with this to chew on:

Buona notte!

Endless Summer

I just re-watched the movie, The Endless Summer again, and I must say the idea of endless Summer is where its at. Sun, surf, salt water, yes yes yes.

As other's rejoice at these cooler days and layers and boots I can't bear to pack away bikini's and little dresses, my toes need to be out not covered. So on this cool September day I offer a little ode to the endless Summer....

de Kooning: A Retrospective at MOMA

On September 18 MoMA will open its doors to a retrospective of the works of Willem de Kooning. This is the first  major museum exhibition devoted to de Kooning's long  career as one of the most important artists of the 20th century. I was once told that de Kooning began his abstractions one night when walking into his studio in the half light and seeing a painting leaning upside down against the wall and began painting it as it lay, literally turning his work on itself. I cant vouch for that story, it was told in art school and who knows what we learn there, but I can urge you to visit this show, and it runs for awhile, Jan 2012 so go. And if my words are not enough...
